We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant within the Division of Cancer Research to study the role of RNA binding proteins in sarcoma cells. This position is fixed-term until 30th September 2023 but may be extended with onward funding being sought.
Post-doctoral researcher position available in the laboratory of Professor Kevin Hiom to study the role of RNA binding proteins in sarcoma cells. This exciting project builds on our recent findings that perturbations in mRNA processing with the generation of replication stress and impaired double strand break repair. We will use molecular and cellular biology as well as genetic and whole genome approaches to determine the key interactions of RNA splicing factors and mRNA processing proteins that might be targeted for the treatment of Ewing sarcoma patients. This is initially a one-year funded project with the potential for onward funding by Cancer Research UK/ SU2C. The position will also be supported by the appointment of a technician. The successful candidate can start as soon as possible.
The Hiom lab is in the state-of-the-art Jacqui Wood Cancer Centre at the University of Dundee, where there is a vibrant genome stability community. Dundee offers a great quality of life with good transport connections, coupled with a very reasonable cost of living.
