The Faculty of Arts and Humanities comprises two high-performing schools, the School of Humanities and Winchester School of Art. The role
You will support the Vice-President Education in the implementation of University strategy through leading on the education strategy within the Faculty. It is an exciting time for the Faculty, as the University is investing in this area with extensive building work anticipated. The Faculty aims to be sector-leading in its curriculum portfolio and to have a physical and virtual estate that offers an outstanding student experience.
You will also closely with the Deputy Heads of School (Education) to ensure that effective processes are in place as well as ensuring that the Faculty’s education portfolio is career sensitive, intellectually stimulating, has a global perspective, research-informed, and attractive to a diverse cohort of students.
About you
You will have a proven track record of providing strategic and visionary direction in the development of education together with knowledge of the role of the Arts and Humanities in academia and the creative, culture and heritage industries. Previous experience in the sector and of engaging with national debates would be an advantage.
You will be people focused with a strong a collegiate leadership style and excellent communication skills. You will have a strong team ethic and the ability to create a culture of teamwork, discussion and idea sharing.

This post is offered on a tenured basis initially for a period of three years, which is extendible up to a maximum of five years. At the end of this tenure, you will return to a substantive position within the Faculty.
