The Role
This is an opportunity to contribute to a number of modules across Levels 4-7 in the suite of Construction, Surveying and Civil Engineering taught programmes. The key subject area is Construction Management, with emphasis on core subjects, legal and regulatory framework, estimating and tendering for construction work in construction, project planning and organisation, supply chain management, and engineering management and sustainability. Technical experience and knowledge in these, as well as other related areas of expertise, is essential.
The successful post-holder will engage actively in applied research in a field related to at least one of the subject areas taught on the degrees within the Department and will contribute to the University’s objective of securing an outstanding reputation for research-informed learning, innovation and integrated academic practice.
The Person
You will come to us with a first degree in relevant subjects within built environment or equivalent at 2.1 or above together with a PhD in a relevant field. You will also have or be working towards a PGCHE, UKPSF2 or equivalent. Professional qualifications would be highly desirable. You will also bring experience of working on a research project, contributing to research groups and publishing your research in peer-reviewed journals.
You will provide high quality practice-focused teaching, participate in research project supervision, enterprise and/or professional activity to the benefit of a diverse range of students and colleagues, and also act as lead supervisor for PhD students. You will also provide expertise and access external networks using a developing national reputation in the area of activity. The successful candidate may concentrate on a combination of teaching, research, enterprise and/or professional activity.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate that they meet the Kingston University standards in learning and teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.

This is a full time, fixed term position for 2 years with a starting salary of £42,182 per annum.
