We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Social Media and Digital Content Manager to join our Institutional Marketing team. You will be working to raise national and international awareness of the Business School, which aims to benefit business and society through the power of innovative thinking.

The post holder will be responsible for day-to-day management of the School’s social media channels, curating content from across the community and developing innovative digital content and multichannel campaigns in order to build community and brand affinity.

If successful, you’ll be communicating across a wide range of topics – in one day you could be sharing content about our academics’ latest research on the economics of climate change, a student-led initiative to support refugees or our latest podcast about the healthcare system.

The right candidate will have very strong project management and teamworking skills, the capacity to work independently and on their own initiative, a finely honed ability to prioritise a complex workload, as well as excellent writing, analytical and reporting skills.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the publishing of content across the School’s social media channels
  • Support to develop, implement and periodically review the School’s social media and digital content strategy.
  • Collaborate with content creators and editors across the School to ensure content is scheduled and meets the School’s best practice quality standards
  • Support to develop the digital engagement skills of our community and in particular our research academics
  • Initiate and deliver digital content and social media projects and campaigns
  • Review and analyse performance metrics across social media, websites, video, email and digital marketing campaigns.

Essential requirements

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent
  • Experience managing social media channels and delivering social media campaigns.
  • Experience of writing copy to a high standard for promotional material and websites, adapting tone and content to a variety of different audiences and platforms.
  • Experience producing digital content for multiple communication and content channels.
  • Experience of video production and/or management of video production projects.
  • Proven experience in developing digital communication plans.
  • Experience implementing, delivering and evaluating digital campaigns across platforms.
  • Knowledge of best practice principles of social media optimisation.
