Fixed Term Contract for 24 months

About the Role
This post is a 24-month contract to contribute to the delivery of an EPSRC funded project on Sustainable Additive Manufacturing (SAM). SAM project will develop novel metal additive manufacturing processes that utilise recycled swarf as feedstock, enabling a greatly reduced overall energy and CO2 footprint for high-value near-net-shaped components, and facilitating much wider exploitation of near-net-shape AM technologies throughout the industry. This research post will focus on the development of the liquid infill method. The post holder will be responsible for the modelling, design, and development of the cold hearth for providing a reliable molten metal delivery.
About You
You will be educated to doctoral level (or close to completion) in a relevant subject and have experience in manufacturing modelling and simulation. You will have excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, together with good technical writing skills. With a developing track record of publishing in high quality journals, you will also have a demonstrable, deep understanding of your own research field and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary groups. Excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure project milestones and deliverables are delivered to time and to a high quality are also essential in this role.
