We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health and Wellbeing Team within Student Support & Experience at The University of Hull.

Student Support sits within the wider Student Services Directorate and aims to enhance the student experience through the provision of high-quality specialist advice, guidance, and support to students of the university. Comprising of teams with specialisms including Mental Health & Wellbeing; Learning Support and Disability inclusion, the service area places student success and progression at the core of its business and seeks to take a proactive and innovative approach to the provision of our services.

The Mental Health Practitioner role is a fast paced role which is central to our whole university approach to the mental health, wellbeing and safety of our student community. Working within a small specialist team, the Mental Health Practitioner will pay a key role in providing compassionate, individualised support and interventions to students and providing specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders across the institution. 

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled professional with significant experience of working directly with adults in mental health settings. The specialist nature of the job requires the successful applicant to have a current professional registration in an appropriate field for example social work or mental health nursing. Experience of working within a higher education setting would be advantageous.

The right applicant will have the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment responding to a diverse range of student needs related to mental health and wellbeing, risk assessment and safeguarding and will be able to demonstrate significant experience of assessment, triage and delivering evidence-based interventions.

The right candidate will be proficient with the use of IT systems and digital technology and will be a highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
