We are looking for an enthusiastic, engaging and skilled administrator to join our Faculty Education and Student Experience team. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to work alongside our Faculty Placements Manager, academic staff, students, and external organisations to support our growing portfolio of student placements, develop related activities, enabling our students to develop workplace skills. Our team is friendly, inclusive, and welcoming. We welcome applications from everyone and value the varied perspectives and experiences that a diverse team can bring.
You will support the delivery of placement schemes, working in liaison with the Faculty Placements Manager. You will enable the smooth running of the schemes by developing documentation and mechanisms to share data, administering risk assessments, and ensuring host organisations have appropriate information and arrangements in place. You will encourage and support students taking up placements by creating publicity, providing guidance, deliver presentations and workshops, and post-placement feedback and events. You will support growth of placement activity, identifying opportunities, represent the faculty in discussions with external organisations, with emphasis on growth of placement participation among underrepresented student groups. You will work closely with the Careers and Employability Service, Registry and Academic Affairs, academic colleagues, and the wider Faculty Education and Student Experience team.
You should be educated to A level or equivalent plus have considerable work experience in a relevant role (or have considerable relevant work experience). You will have excellent written and verbal communication, IT, and problem-solving skills. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, experience of developing strong working relationships, and managing a busy workload with conflicting deadlines. Experience of working in or with private sector organisations and knowledge of current regulation and policy regarding placements is desirable.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team which holds a Lord Dearing Award for excellent support provided to students; and to contribute to a growth area in our faculty. We are committed to supporting the well-being of our staff to help them reach their full potential. As a university employee, you will work in a beautiful location, have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including leading fitness and health facilities, staff discounts and travel schemes, along with a generous holiday allowance and pension scheme.
This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
