The University of Greenwich seeks to appoint an Associate Professor in the Film and TV portfolio of the School of Stage and Screen. The recent establishment of the School has brought together the disciplines of Drama, Theatre and Performance, Music and Sound Production, Film Studies and Film and TV Production, across Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, to respond to the increasing demand for creative thinkers, cross-disciplinary collaboration, global stories and new skills for creating and performing with emerging technologies. We are looking for someone to join this diverse and multi-disciplinary team to help us build our research profile and to modernise our curriculum to prepare our students for the future in the ever-growing and rapidly changing creative industries.
The ideal candidate will be able to work well across, lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams in the development of innovative research, knowledge exchange and/or existing or novel taught programmes, and will seek out interdisciplinary opportunities to promote, cultivate and engage with both internal and external networks and industry partnerships.
With an energy and passion for the student experience and a strong commitment to teaching integrating research, enterprise and innovation at undergraduate and postgraduate level, we are looking for applicants with experience, understanding and knowledge of emerging film and television technologies and related workflows and methodologies, such as those related to virtual production, extended reality and immersive technologies.
The successful candidate will have an MA or MFA and a PhD in Film or TV discipline related areas, Postgraduate teaching qualification or HEA Fellowship or significant teaching experience
