The opportunity
We are looking for a Lecturer in Design for Visual Communication to support the course team and students on the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and MA Design for Visual Communication.
These courses take a broad, practice-based approach to applied design based on graphic and visual communication. You will support students technically as they explore tools, platforms and software as well as intellectually as they develop portfolios and a sense of their practice. You will work on curriculum development, bringing new and innovative ideas to the course and new partnerships with collaborators.
You will also work with the course team and management to challenge and develop the design subject in the context of global social, ecological and technological change.
About you
You will have experience in design for visual communication or associated fields either in academic, creative or industry practice and some experience in teaching, delivering workshops, lectures and working with learners. You are comfortable creating and delivering research-led lectures for students of the MA course and supporting and advising on research methods.
The Design for Visual Communication student body is diverse and ambitious, with learners from all over the world and a range of ages and experiences. You will need to work to support a group of exciting and driven students in developing their expertise and portfolios.
