The Department of Social Policy and Intervention is seeking an outstanding individual for a new Postdoctoral Researcher role reporting to Prof. Mary Daly. You will be part of a research group working on the project rEUsilience: Risks, Resources and Inequalities: Increasing Resilience in European Families. The project is international and is funded by Horizon Europe and UKRI.
You will have the skills and knowledge to: interpret the findings of primary research on and with families on how they manage risks; investigate how inequalities are associated with family life in the UK and elsewhere; critically review and analyse a range of social and family policies (both in the UK and in a broader comparative context); and develop and road test through diverse methods a range of possible policy measures to address the problems and policy shortcomings found.
You are expected to collaborate with other project members and contribute to other analyses of the impact of social policy on familial resilience. You will work with a variety of data types for the analysis of data and policy especially as well as undertake stakeholder meetings to progress a policy and practice agenda for change. In addition, you are expected to contribute to managing the project.
You will hold a PhD or DPhil in a relevant subject, along with post-qualification research experience and a strong international publication record. The ability to independently plan and manage a research project is essential, and you will ideally have experience of managing the administrative work associated with projects including managing the budget and keeping full records.
This role is fixed-term to 31 August 2025.
