The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.
We are recruiting two Programme Administrators within the School’s Programme Administration Office for an immediate start. Applicants must have proven administrative experience (preferably in an education setting), together with experience of organising a busy workload, attention to detail and working independently and as part of a team.
The posts involve acting as first point of contact for enquiries from students, staff and external stakeholders, managing student records, updating programme and module materials, examinations and assessment, committee support, and working with confidential and sensitive information. The post involves extensive communication with a wide range of people; therefore, a high standard of written and spoken English is essential. The postholder should have strong IT skills.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to commence or further a career in Higher Education administration.
Both posts are full-time and permanent. The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 3 in the range £28,053 - £31,519 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
As part of LSHTM’s Hybrid Working Framework it is expected that staff will be present in the office for at least two days per week, and will work from home three days per week. Provision will be made for anyone who needs/prefers to work in the office more often.
Applications should be made online at our website at http://jobs.lshtm.ac.uk. Any queries regarding the application process may be addressed to jobs@lshtm.ac.uk. Candidates called to interview will be required to undertake a 30-minute computer-based test.
The supporting statement section should set out how your qualifications, experience and training meet each of the selection criteria. Please provide one or more paragraphs addressing each criterion giving one or two brief examples of how each of the criteria is met. The supporting statement is an essential part of the selection process and thus a failure to provide this information will mean that the application will not be considered. An answer to any of the criteria such as “Yes” or "Please see attached CV" will not be considered acceptable.
Please note: if you are shortlisted and are unable to attend on the interview date, it may not be possible to offer you an alternative date.
