As a result of our success we are expanding the team within EPrints Services that develop and maintain web based services for a wide variety of both education and commercial organisations all over the world. At our core is an open source repository platform that provides a flexible way to configure operations concerning data capture, structure and presentation, and a range of services that allow content to be accessed in a variety of ways.
Based in the School of Electronics and Computer Science you will take responsibility for the development of customer focused projects for both EPrints systems and more varied engineering projects relating to open access, open data, digital education, content management and systems integrations. All projects require some level of design, programming, testing, project management, and customer support.
It is essential you have:
- PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Computer Science or related discipline
and / or
- Proven commercial, industrial, relevant work or project experience
In addition, some knowledge of Linux as well as Web relevant technologies, for example XML, Javascript and CSS is required. Experience in high level programming languages such as Python, PHP or Perl will be highly desirable.

This role is offered on a full-time fixed term contract for two years, however a part-time contract can also be entertained”.
