The Department of Finance provides a wide range of financial support across the whole University. The Faculty Finance teams provide advice & support to the Faculty which they are aligned to, covering departmental expenditure, budgets and project activities.
We have an exciting opportunity within the Faculty Finance team aligned to the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health.
The Finance Faculty team provides advice and support for the Faculty for enquiries relating to departmental income, expenditure, budgets and for enquiries regarding research activities. With an emphasis on systems driven change, we aim to constantly improve all areas of the services we offer in order to support and enable the academic aims of the organisation.
This role forms a key operational interface between departmental based administration staff and Faculty Finance. Their primary focus is to support Faculty based departmental staff and the Faculty Finance Managers and Heads of Faculty Finance through provision of both research and non-research financial management as well as procure to pay activities. You will need the ability to give information and advice and, where required, support the financial management of the department’s core resources. A good general education, 5 GCSEs grades A-C, including Maths and English is essential.
You will be an enthusiastic, hands-on finance professional, who is comfortable getting involved with various areas of University finance relating to departments and faculty, and someone who is happy working with both non-financial academic colleagues as well as finance colleagues.
