The Department of Politics at Sussex is a well-established and successful research-led department with a record of excellence in research assessment exercises and in teaching. The department is seeking to build on its strengths by appointing a suitable candidate as a Lecturer (A) in Politics.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic and committed academic from within the field of Politics. We are looking to appoint a research active academic who will make a strong contribution to our next REF submission. That will include a strong record of publications. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate potential for securing research funding.
We welcome applicants in all areas of political science, and particularly those with research and teaching expertise in European politics, comparative politics (including specialists in non-European regions and countries) and political theory as well as any of our other departmental specialisms.
Applicants will be capable of making a significant contribution to teaching on the department's core modules. We would also expect the successful candidates to contribute to our wider more specialist undergraduate teaching.
Please contact the Head of Department, Professor Aleks Szczerbiak at a.a.szczerbiak@sussex.ac.uk for informal enquiries.
