We would particularly welcome applications from academics with expertise on the politics of gender in the global South.

Applicants must have a PhD in development studies, with a particular focus on politics, an emerging record of research success demonstrated through good research publications and good experience of teaching and supervision, ideally at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The University welcomes applications from excellent candidates who can make significant contributions to research and research-informed teaching. GDI is committed to mentoring and supporting all colleagues and particularly welcomes applications from under-represented groups within higher education in the UK.
