This post is within the International Services team, bringing together immigration compliance and advice to offer a streamlined experience for international students. The International Services team is part of the Academic Registrar’s Office within the Academic Section.
Duties of the Role
This post will support the International Services team in the delivery of processes and procedures relating to the University’s immigration sponsor status. The post holder will work collaboratively with other International Services Administrators and the International Services Officers to provide high level, proactive administrative support to maintain compliance with the Home Office Sponsor Guidance. The post holder will be the first point of contact for enquiries about a wide range of topics from students and staff across the University and will use knowledge of the immigration rules and University processes to triage enquiries and either respond or escalate to other members of the team. Our Administrators each have additional areas of specialism for specific tasks, and develop expertise in developing and monitoring process documents for those tasks.
Skills and qualifications required
We are looking for a motivated team player who puts the needs of our students at the heart of everything we do whilst being aware of the constraints and benefits of the immigration rules and University policy. You will demonstrate effective administrative skills and will have experience of working in a customer facing frontline service. We need an individual with exceptional written and verbal communication skills who is able to provide accessible and clear information.
You will be able to establish positive rapport with colleagues and students, and to work accurately and with attention to detail, including when under pressure. You will be flexible in your approach and will use your ‘can do’ attitude to best effect when working as a member of a busy team.
