Are you an experienced contracts manager who is looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience of establishing, building and maintaining stakeholder relationships? If you’d like to be part of a friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team supporting world class science, then we have a role for you.
The National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) is a world leader in atmospheric research and innovation, working to understand the atmosphere, how it is changing and how it affects our environment, our health and our prosperity. Each year NCAS receives £18m directly from the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) to deliver this national capability in atmospheric science. The NCAS Headquarters, based at the University of Leeds, supports over two hundred members of staff, embedded at twelve universities and research institutes across the UK. NCAS is responsible for managing a range of large research programmes across these partner organisations and also operates four substantial research facilities, including a large atmospheric research aircraft (FAAM) and a large “super-data-cluster” (JASMIN) for environmental data storage and analysis.
As Contracts & Business Manager, you will have experience of working in a contracts management role, with proven ability to build excellent relationships with a wide variety of complex stakeholders, influence decision makers and proactively support contract development, implementation and delivery. You will support colleagues based in multiple locations & multiple organisations, coordinating their input, providing quality assurance, whilst often working to tight deadlines. Enthusiastic, flexible and conscientious, you take a proactive approach to your work and will have the ability to work well both within a team and independently.
The role will be based at NCAS Headquarters at the University of Leeds. It is currently funded for 2 years and will be appointed as fixed term. During this time funding will be sought to make this role open ended.
