The School of Medicine is looking to recruit a dedicated, enthusiastic, and reliable Project and Implementation Manager on a secondment to join our expanding undergraduate team in the Medical Education Centre Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. This is a new fixed term 2-year role providing professional project management support for the redesign of our medical course curriculum working closely with the academic and professional services leadership team and with our key external stakeholders in the region.
The school has in region of 2500 undergraduate students with 2200 of these on medical courses across 3 sites – Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln.
This fixed term role is required to provide the appropriate framework and governance based on PRINCE2 and MSP principles. The post-holder will also drive forward continual process improvement within the Education Centre, leading and implementing recommendations from the Education Centre Development plan – particularly in relation to curriculum review and development.
You will be a dynamic and effective individual, with the ability to risk assess and prioritise competing demands in order to present informed recommendations to Senior Management and Programme/Project Sponsors together with ability to implement recommendations. You will also have a detailed knowledge of University teaching and learning regulations and impact on School level curriculum development.
The duties and percentage time allocation provides an indication and framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list or allocation. Other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade, spirit and purpose of the post may be requested. The role holder will be expected to work flexibly to support the Professional Services across the Education Centre.
We are seeking an enthusiastic leader who has the ability to work independently. You will be friendly, proactive and self-motivated and not fazed by frequently changing priorities and demands.
A Degree (or equivalent) or substantial relevant work experience commensurate with the level of post. A qualification in project management PRINCE2 or equivalent (e.g. APMP, ILM, Agile, MSP)
This post is based at the Education Centre, in the Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham, however you will be asked to travel to other hospital sites in the East Midlands as part of the role.
This post is offered on a 2 year fixed term basis. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered
