The Role
We seek to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic person with experience and expertise in the subject area of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Design Thinking and/or Creativity. The role is at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level depending on experience. The role supports the development and delivery of new portfolio, which has the development of entrepreneurial skills and creative problem solving at the core.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, delivery and organisation of programmes and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum in a manner that supports our experiential and vocationally relevant approach to learning and teaching. The appointee will have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the student experience, and ambition to develop high-quality research or scholarship through journal and/or practitioner publications, external grant funding and business engagement.
The role requires proactivity in identifying the needs of stakeholders in the region, shaping solutions and initiatives, and building local networks.
The Person
You will have strong focus on engagement with practice and external stakeholders, and have established experience in the area of entrepreneurship and/or enterprise education. You will be credible in terms of your experience, and practical skills and knowledge to work with our students to expand their knowledge and skills in creative innovation. It is essential that you are entrepreneurial minded, and have industry experience and/or knowledge exchange expertise. A demonstrated track record of excellence and innovation in teaching and/or training is also essential.
You will hold a postgraduate qualification and ideally a PhD in the subject area. You will have evidenced potential to publish in highly rated academic journals and/or practice-based publications. You would have experience in developing and implementing a variety of innovative teaching methods, including the use of technology and creativity in student assessment and feedback. You will supervise student projects and dissertations, participate in the School’s recruitment initiatives, and provide academic and pastoral support by serving as a Personal Tutor. If you haven’t already achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition, we’ll need you to do so before the end of your probation period.
You will also have a strong commitment to continuing professional development and inter-professional and international perspectives. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with colleagues on research projects, knowledge exchange and commercial activities, and apply for internal and external grants. You must be a student-centred team player, comfortable with co-creating solutions with students, peers and external stakeholders.

We are looking to appoint at a starting salary of £42,182 per annum for a Lecturer or £47,004 per annum for a Senior Lecturer, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
