Without our dedicated teams, we wouldn’t be ranked so highly or have won any of our numerous awards.

We are one of the largest employers in Coventry and we offer our people a place to belong and an organisation to be proud of.

The Research Centre for Manufacturing and Materials (CMM) and the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (AME), part of Coventry University’s Institute for Clean Growth and Future Mobility (CGFM), is seeking to recruit a capable and experienced Associate Professor to take a leadership position in the exciting and growing area of Digital Manufacturing.

This is an immediate opening for a highly motivated individual with a PhD or equivalent professional experience demonstrating an ability to carry-out independent research, a track-record of high-quality research publications and successful delivery of UKRI grant funded projects in Digital Manufacturing.

In particular, this post has specific responsibility for leading research in Digital Manufacturing which aims to contribute to more efficient, responsive and smart factories and supply chains.

The Associate Professor in Digital Manufacturing will be expected to provide research outputs in the form of technologies and methods for the application of Digital Manufacturing across the value chain. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the development of theories and technologies supporting scalable, reconfigurable and flexible manufacturing.

The key areas of expertise we are looking for includes the following:

As part of its expansion the AME has invested over £5M in new facilities and equipment which includes a digital demonstrator co-created with our industrial partners to replicate the systems and data sets currently used across the manufacturing and engineering value chain. The successful candidate will have access to the AME facilities in order to conduct research experiments and to contribute to the knowledge base around this topic.

The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant research group, working closely with other researchers and industrial partners. There will also be opportunities for national and international travel, and collaboration with other research organisations.

This is a permanent position. Salary is commensurate with experience and is competitive. Interested candidates should include a CV and brief summary of research accomplishments with their application.
