Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?

Come and be part of an innovative and influential University department delivering excellent IT and business services to a leading Russell Group institution. With a reputation for engaging staff and students in partnership to deliver services, for three years running UK students have voted us best for IT support. We are committed to delivering and supporting excellent customer focussed services and to do this we need to recruit the best staff, invested in higher education and dedicated to supporting sector leading learning, teaching and research; and that’s why we need you.

The University has set out an exciting new technology-enabled strategy that will impact all aspects of the delivery of our services and the user experience. It has established an Enterprise Architecture function as a critical enabler for its success. Its immediate task is understanding and stabilising the current enterprise architecture to help define a strategic vision and then put in place a roadmap and appropriate processes to achieve it.

We are strengthening our architecture function and are recruiting new roles within the Technology Architecture team. Technical Architects lead on the development of technical architectures required to meet the current and future IT needs of the business. In addition to traditional project style delivery, we are evolving to a product-led environment where Solution Architects will work with Product Leads to develop the roadmap and emerging architecture states that enable continuous delivery of value. All architects have a key voice in the Enterprise Architecture team and across the wider design community and will help shape our technology strategy and approach to delivering all aspects of our architecture service.

You will be able to use your knowledge and experience to drive change and will be able to communicate and champion our vision for the technical and enterprise architecture service across the University. You will have significant practical experience working at a senior level as an enterprise, solution, technical or systems architect. You will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels. Experience of working within an agile environment would be desirable but is not essential.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
