The appointee will participate effectively in the School's postgraduate and undergraduate programmes and contribute significantly to the quality expansion of research in the relevant area. The appointee will also arrange, monitor and supervise work experience placements and undertake administrative tasks as designated by the Head of School, and play an active part in the life of the School.
Applications are encouraged from candidates with lecturing and research experience in the areas of contemporary research on Irish Studies in all aspects of language, literature, history, culture, heritage and the arts, the global context of Irish language and culture among the Irish diaspora, and in contemporary Irish language and literature. The School would particularly welcome applicants who have experience in devising and coordinating Irish Studies' programmes/courses and dealing with international students.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines.
