Join us at our Sheffield headquarters as a Chemical Product Manager and become an integral part of both our chemistry and technical support teams. As our Chemical Product Manager, you will take charge of chemical procurement and will be responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels so that orders can be fulfilled quickly. Your role will also involve being a vital link between our chemistry and materials team and our dedicated customer support team, engaging in technical communications with customers to help them with their research and related purchasing decisions.

The Role

The core responsibilities of the Chemical Product Manager are:

  • Maintaining stock for a growing catalogue of nearly 700 materials
  • Managing the supply chain and working with suppliers to build on existing relations
  • Interfacing between the materials and customer care teams to manage outgoing orders
  • Being the first point of contact within the materials team for customer enquiries
  • Assisting in product development to bring new materials to market

This exciting opportunity has opened up due to an internal promotion, so a comprehensive role handover and full training will be provided.

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree in chemistry, materials science, or a related discipline. We aim to achieve a great customer experience by providing high-quality products with excellent technical support at competitive prices, so you should also have a strong desire to make your work a commercial success.

In addition, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Great communication skills
  • Good IT skills including Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong desire for continuous learning
  • Adaptability and resourcefulness
