About the role

Join us at the Bodleian Libraries as a Business Data Analyst to support our ambitious new 5-year strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with staff from all parts of the Bodleian, ensuring they have the data they need to measure and report on their progress in transforming library services.

You will collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, including project managers, project owners, data stewards and subject matter experts to understand, contextualise, obtain, govern and communicate the data for Key Performance Indicators.

You will establish and maintain all aspects of the data pipeline for the required data, and you will use Tableau and/or Power BI to communicate data for reporting and decision-making. You will receive full training in these tools if you need it. You will also provide training for Bodleian Libraries staff on the use of quantitative data for management, monitoring, and regular reporting on the Strategy.

About you

You will be able to build strong collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the Bodleian Libraries and University. You will have a strong service orientation and customer focus, and you will have experience implementing Extract, Transform, and Load or similar processes within the public sector (manual or automated). You will also have experience of data management and analysis, and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and advocate for change.

The Bodleian Libraries is committed to supporting staff in their personal and career development and offers extensive training and development opportunities, including fully funded conference attendance.

Our staff and students come from all over the world, and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture. Diversity is positively encouraged, through diverse groups and champions, as well as a number of family-friendly policies, such as the right to apply for flexible working and support for staff returning from periods of extended absence, for example shared parental leave.

You will be required to upload your CV and a supporting statement as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should list each of the essential and desirable selection criteria, as listed in the job description, and explain how you meet each one.

Only applications received online by 12.00 midday (BST/GMT) on Monday 19 June 2023 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place on Tuesday 4 July 2023.
