Job description
About us
The King’s community is dedicated to the service of society. King’s Strategic Vision 2029 sets out our vision for the future, shaped around five priority areas: educate to inspire and improve; research to inform and innovate; serve to shape and transform; a civic university at the heart of London; and an international community that services the world. Our ambitious Education Strategy sets out the actions that we must take to transform how we teach, how and where our students learn and how we support them during their time with us.
The Data Governance and Security team develops, maintains, and supports system and process security, data governance, data protection compliance, regulatory reporting, and external and internal audit requirements. The team ensures that strategies and procedures in relation to these areas are fit for purpose and is responsible for providing a ‘gold source’ of all student and course information data to ensure best practice.
We are part of the Students & Education Directorate, a collection of wide-ranging professional services in place to support King’s students and their education. As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.
About the role
The Senior Digital Assurance Officer will provide assurance and operational support to the teams engaged in providing student facing content on College digital platforms and websites. This will entail the provision of end-to-end administrative support in triaging enquiries, resolving data quality issues in respect of student facing content, working closely with colleagues in areas of compliance such as accessibility, assisting with any reporting requirements and providing assurance that we are compliant with our regulatory obligations in this area.
They will also continuously adapt processes to improve efficiency of their own area, and within the wider team.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to take responsibility over a key data activity within the university, and who wish to utilise their skills and expertise to support the implementation of our new student app and provide support for existing digital platforms and websites that host student content. This is a new role so there is an opportunity to grow your skills in the implementation of data assurance and regulatory compliance within the digital platforms and website landscape.
We are looking for an individual who shares our aspirations and our values, who is comfortable working strategically and operationally, who understands how to deliver support and services to students and other end-users, and who is equipped to work in a high volume, complex and fast paced environment.
We encourage applications from candidates who have experience from both within and outside of the Higher Education sector where they can demonstrate the skills needed to succeed in this role.
This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.
This is a full-time post, but we welcome applications from candidates seeking a flexible work pattern within our necessary service operating hours of 9am to 5pm.
