The Governing Body of Magdalene College expects to elect a stipendiary (Junior) Research Fellow with tenure for three years from 1 October 2024.
The Lumley Fellowship - endowed through the generosity of the late H R L Lumley, will be in one of the following subject areas:
Modern literature produced in English or in other UK or European languages including World literatures, North American literature and post-classical medieval literatures, Linguistics and UK or European Cultural Studies including Film Studies.
Applications are invited from graduates from any university. This is an early career appointment. Candidates should normally have completed a PhD not earlier than 1 October 2022 or be on target to complete a PhD dissertation before the commencement of the Fellowship.
The current gross stipend for the Lumley Research fellow is £26,135 p.a. The (Junior)Research Fellows may take advantage of single accommodation in College and will receivedining privileges. There is no payment in lieu of accommodation or meals not taken.
