About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for an Information Governance Manager to join our Governance and Legal Services Department on a fixed term basis.
You'll be providing maternity leave cover for an anticipated 12 months period. The role is based within the Legal Services team and you'll also work closely with the University’s Data Protection Officer.
As a data protection subject matter expert you will provide professional advice and guidance on all aspects of information governance and its associated legislation to both academic and professional services colleagues across the University. This will include a wide range of expert advice and include the management of a caseload of Subject Access Requests, Information Rights requests and Freedom of Information requests. You will also line manage and support two Information Governance Administrators and two Information Governance Officers.
About You
Able to work well independently and have a positive, can-do approach, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for developing positive working relationships. You will be well organised and able both to prioritise and work to deadlines.
In particular you will have the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to a wide range of people. Diplomacy, tact, attention to detail and a calm approach are essential, as well as excellent leadership and team management skills. You will be educated to a degree level or equivalent and proficient in using Microsoft IT packages.
