The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) are looking for a Clinical Director to join the team on a contract basis.   

Who we are: 

The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH) is the leader in the field of sexual and reproductive healthcare, and we are the voice for professionals working in this area. The Clinical Effectiveness Unit (CEU) at the FSRH develops a range of evidenced-based clinical guidance documents including NICE-accredited guidelines. The CEU has been based at the Chalmers Centre in Edinburgh but is now transferring to the FSRH London offices. 

Can you help us? 

We are seeking a Clinical Director to lead the Clinical Effectiveness Unit in the development of clinical guidelines, guidance statements and new product reviews, as well as advising the wider Faculty in responding to new evidence, research and press enquiries.  

The role: 

In providing clinical leadership (and methodological advice) the postholder will work closely with the CEU staff, systematic reviewers, Clinical Fellows, FSRH Clinical Quality Committees and senior faculty officers, as well as clinical experts and patient organisations involved in the field to deliver high quality guidance.  

Key duties are to provide clinical leadership and advice on all aspects of guideline development and across all CEU activities including providing advice on the technical review of methods and continuous improvement. The postholder will lead the work with committees to develop recommendations and establish and maintain networks of national and international experts in the field of sexual and reproductive health and research. 

You will have:   

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, or advanced Registered Nurse/Midwife and professionally registered with relevant organisation with a current licence to practice
  • A Postgraduate with a qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of clinical guideline development and assessment methodology, critical appraisal and the interpretation and synthesis of clinical research evidence
  • Expert knowledge of research and evidence in the field of sexual and reproductive health
  • Extensive experience working in, or familiarity with, the NHS gained as a consultant or specialist in a relevant field
  • Conducted research and prepared peer reviewed publications or familiarity with research design, methodology, conduct and reporting
  • Established clinical networks in the field of sexual and reproductive health 

NB:  In order to fulfil this role you should be resident in the UK with a valid right to work; we are unable to sponsor people requiring a work visa.
