The University of Bath is pleased to offer a Research Associate position in the Department of Life Sciences.
About the role:
This PDRA position will work in a parasitology lab at the University of Bath and will work on a BBSRC-funded project to investigate gene organisation in the parasitic nematode Strongyloides ratti.
The project will involve wet lab and bioinformatics approaches and experience in both is essential.
Roles will include culturing and collecting different life cycle stage of S. ratti and extracting RNA for RNAseq and small RNA analyses.
The successful applicant will also use CRISPR/Cas9 to investigate Strongyloides genetics.
The successful applicant will work closely with collaborators at the University of Exeter and University of Tokyo and there will be opportunity to visit collaborators.
