The School of Modern Languages invites applications for the position of Associate Lecturer (Education Focused) in Comparative Literature and French. This is a fixed-term position from 3 January 2024 to 19 January 2025 to cover a period of parental leave.
Applicants must either hold a PhD in Francophone Studies, Comparative Literature, or a cognate subject or demonstrate that they will have completed one by 3 January 2024. Applicants should have teaching experience in a UK or Anglophone higher education institution as well as full professional competency in French and English.
The role holder will be expected to deliver lectures and lead seminars in Comparative Literature, teach sub-honours French language classes, supervise undergraduate dissertations, and serve as convener for two large team-taught first year Comparative Literature modules. There may be opportunities to undertake postgraduate teaching and/or dissertation supervision in Comparative Literature and/or French.
