The Role

Maynooth University is now undertaking a major expansion in the area of food and nutrition to include additional undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and strengthening our research activities in the general thematic area of health. We will have an initial focus on the nutritional impact of food and the future development of food products as a complement to health and well-being.
We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff as an Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the broad area of human nutrition and health. We are particularly interested in those with expertise in any of the following areas: metabolism and food, food biochemistry, nutrition, and gender-specific health mechanisms or the nutritional consequences of microbiome composition. However, all areas of human nutrition and health are welcome.
The appointee will be expected to build a strong research profile, that supports the University’s research strategy including affiliating to the Research Institutes, where appropriate and working with colleagues on national and international research. The appointee will be expected to sustain and conduct research, engage in scholarship of quality and substance, and generate publications of international standard.
