Located in one of the most beautiful regions of the UK, between the Snowdonia National Park and Anglesey, Bangor University is a research-led University of and for North Wales, providing transformative learning experiences and nurturing a positive impact on society regionally, nationally, and internationally. With approximately 10,000 students and 2,000 staff, we have a long tradition of academic excellence and a strong focus on the student experience. Our research in Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing and Pharmacy is ranked 15th overall in the UK. This builds on our research strengths in Human Sciences and help develop future health and social care that is sustainable, place-based and bolsters the growth of the regional life sciences sector.

Based in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, the School of Health Sciences is the focus for health and care education and research at Bangor University. The School offers a career-spanning portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and short courses for health and care and allied professionals. The School comprises over 150 staff, delivering to more than 1400 students from across the health and medical professions and has an income in the region of £6-7m per annum. The School’s portfolio of professional programmes continues to expand, with several new programmes in development and Dental Hygiene and national Distance Learning Nursing recently launched.

We are now seeking an exceptional individual to lead the School of Health Sciences. Reporting to the PVC/Head of College, you will play a crucial role in the academic and strategic leadership and management of the School, working alongside the School Executive, College and wider University colleagues. You will establish a clear vision for the future direction for the School with a focus on growth, quality and scale of health and care education provision for the region, nationally and internationally, innovative research, digital teaching provision, and enhancing the student experience.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity, and we are looking for candidates with the drive, enthusiasm, and vision to help us realise our aspirations for the School and University. You will have a track record of excellent academic achievement, exposure across the domains of education, research and leadership, and in-depth specialist expertise in one or more of the domains relevant to the School. There is a specific need to enhance the student experience and to improve league table rankings and National Student Survey results and you will have a proven track record of success in these areas. With excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, you will have proven ability to inspire and motivate teams and engender trust and respect across the institution and with our partners. Whilst there is no specific language requirement, candidates will be expected to work positively in a bilingual environment.

Mae'r Ysgol yn cynnig portffolio sy'n rhychwantu graddau israddedig, ôl-radd a chyrsiau byr i weithwyr proffesiynol gofal iechyd a chysylltiedig.
