Are you keen for your work to make the difference?
Do you have excellent communication, research and organisational skills, coupled with a high level of attention to detail, and are passionate about building meaningful relationships with varied partners?
Reporting directly to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR), in a newly created post in a successful, collaborative and expanding team, the Development and Alumni Relations Manager (DARM) will be a self-starter, experienced in alumni relations and fundraising. They will be expected to continue the development of the University's alumni relations programme, and to deliver plans which lead to greater interaction with alumni.
They will also facilitate increased opportunities for the department to raise funds, through a variety of channels, including research to enable the bid for support from trusts and foundations. The specific duties associated with the post may vary from time to time, according to the requirements of the role, the DDAR, and potential funding opportunities. It is therefore essential for the post-holder to be flexible and willing to respond positively to new challenges and that they are capable of making effective decisions.
The Development and Alumni Relations team sits within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. In addition to engaging with the University’s Alumni community, it includes the Development Trust, a separate charity, which comprises a group of Trustees and Patrons who support the work of the Trust, and the Trust Secretary, who is also the Director of Development and Alumni Relations.
This is an exciting time to join the Team, as the University, in partnership with the Development Trust, is in the planning stages of a new major philanthropic campaign, ’20 by 30 Together We Will Make The Difference’ to generate a co-contribution of £20m towards the fulfilment of the 2030 strategic goals.
