An exciting new Public & Professional Involvement worker has arisen to join the new Research Centre for Adult Social Care Research, (CARE) aligned to Cardiff University’s School of Social Sciences to support the Involvement work at CARE.
In this role you will provide advice, guidance and support to staff within and beyond CARE in relation to the involvement of people with lived experience of adult social care services, unpaid carers and practitioners in research. Your primary focus will be in relation to the work taking place to support the public involvement infrastructure in CARE, funded by HCRW. This includes leading on a Public Involvement Board and a Practitioners’ forum. You will also have the opportunity to work on individual projects to involve those with lived experience and practitioners, and explore opportunities for development across the centre. You will advise and support the dissemination of research findings to people with lived experience of social care, practitioners and the general public.
Please note that you need to have a willingness to travel across Wales and to be flexible regarding working hours to meet the needs of research projects. You may occasionally be expected to work evenings and weekends to respond to participatory and engagement activities.
This role is eligible to be offered on a blended working basis, meaning that as well as spending time offsite or working at SPARK, our Social Science Research Park, you can also choose to spend some time working from another location, e.g. your home. Discussions around these arrangements can take place after the successful candidate has been appointed. This post is full-time (35 hours per week), is fixed term until 31st March 2028 and is immediately available.
Salary: £32,332 - £34,980 per annum (Grade 5), with 3 annual increments up to £34,980 per annum (final salary at top of grade).
Responsible to the Centre Manager.
