Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice.
We are recruiting an epidemiologist/medical statistician to join a Wellcome-Trust-funded research programme on infections and brain health. The successful candidate will conduct innovative research into relationships between infections and brain health, applying robust causal inference methods to a range of health datasets. The post offers an excellent opportunity to design and conduct studies involving analysis of large-scale data from UK and international electronic health records, and specialist cohorts. The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic and experience in aetiological epidemiological research using linked electronic health records on topics including infections and brain health. The post requires strong data management and quantitative skills with expertise in a common statistical package such as Stata/R. A commitment to multi-disciplinary and collaborative working is also essential. Experience using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) for epidemiological research is desirable. Further particulars are included in the job description.
