About the Role
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in in Epidemiology to undertake research on the relation between prenatal exposure to toxic metals (lead, cadmium and arsenic) and health outcomes (lung function, blood pressure, cognitive function) in children in an English birth cohort, under the supervision of the Professor of Life Course Epidemiology.
About You
The successful candidate will be responsible for the merging of new laboratory data with existing data from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC), analysing exposure-health associations and writing up the findings for publication. They will hold a PhD (or close to completion) in Statistics or Epidemiology, and /or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience and will have considerable experience of analysing epidemiological data.

The post is based in Charterhouse Square. It is full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 12 months, starting 1st September 2025. Successful applicants without a PhD at the time of commencement with be offered a starting salary of £37,889. Once a PhD award certification can be produced, the salary will increase to £41,510 per annum.
