Are you an excellent communicator? Can you engage with clients to really understand risks, opportunities and constraints? Do you thrive on solving problems, innovating and collaborating? If you are ready for a change, would like to genuinely make a difference through internal audit and have an appetite for the breadth of work this role offers, we can help you build an outstanding career.
Internal Audit’s role at the University is highly regarded and increasingly strategic and advisory. We undertake a broad spectrum of work on a wide range of topics – covering large strategic change programmes, the management of strategic risks and the design and operation of core processes (financial and non-financial).
You will be CCAB or CIIA qualified or equivalent, with experience of internal audit, external audit or related advisory services, which may have been gained in a professional services firm. You will be a motivated individual with the ability to quickly adapt to a Higher Education environment alongside understanding risks, systems and processes efficiently. Other related experience and qualifications, such as fraud investigator or project management are desirable but not necessary.
The Senior Internal Auditor role will focus mainly on audits relating to strategic risks, with an expectation of independent working, and interaction with senior stakeholders. This role requires significant relevant experience and the ability to work through complexity and ambiguity.
The post is offered on a permanent contract. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week); however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week).
The successful candidate will be expected to work on site three days per week (pro rata). We have campuses in three countries (UK, China and Malaysia) so occasional international travel is a possibility by mutual agreement.
Please apply online by submitting your CV with a covering letter that clearly demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria from the role profile.
