Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) provides expertise in the design and delivery of feasibility studies, evaluation trials, complex interventions, and other well-designed clinical intervention studies.
The post holder will support data management in relation to trials within Lancashire CTU portfolio by contributing to the planning, implementation, deployment and ongoing oversight of bespoke database structures and information systems.
The successful candidate will have experience of systems development using a relational database, such as MySQL / MariaDB and have experience of building online data collection systems or database-backed websites. Experience using the LAMP stack, or similar server-side technology, as part of an existing or previous job role, is essential to the post as well as experience in documenting procedures.
The post holder will have a relevant computing or systems-based degree or equivalent work experience, have technical design and systems analysis skills and have a strong ability to retain persistent focus and ‘flow’ on priority tasks despite interruptions and until task completion.
The successful candidate will have analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
