An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer or Associate Professor to join the School of Environmental Sciences to plan, teach and assess appropriate topics at undergraduate and postgraduate level and to support inclusive education and widening access and participation of students from underrepresented & disadvantaged groups. 

Areas of subject expertise should include any areas of environmental sciences, physical or human geography, geology, and ecology. The School is broadly based and delivers undergraduate programmes that span physical, chemical, biological and social science aspects of the environment. The post holder will also act as an academic advisor for students and be part of a team championing Widening Participation in the Faculty. 

Alongside school and faculty-based activities, approximately 0.6 FTE of the role will be involved in the development, delivery, and evaluation of initiatives to support and enhance access and widening participation activity across the student lifecycle. While the role will be based in the School of Environmental Sciences, the role holder will collaborate with colleagues across Science to address risks to equality of opportunity in the faculty.

This full-time post is available from 1 March 2024 on an indefinite basis.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to a criminal record check at Enhanced level from the Disclosure and Barring Service, including a check of the Child Barred List.
