The UCL Faculty of Laws has a wide ranging events programme comprising around 120 events annually, and also delivers Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses for professionals within the legal field. The Faculty Events Team provides a comprehensive and highly professional event management service for all extracurricular events and initiatives which form an integral part of the learning, research and public engagement environment at the Faculty.

About the role

Working with academic colleagues and other professional services teams, the Faculty Events Manager is responsible for the planning, management and budgetary control of a diverse range of academic and alumni events, with an emphasis on supporting our research activities and research environment, ensuring that these events contribute to the public profile of UCL and the Faculty of Laws. This is maternity leave cover, commencing March 2024 for 9-12 months in the first instance. This role can be undertaken as a fixed term contract or as a secondment where appropriate. About you

We are looking for an experienced event management professional with expertise in planning and managing successful events such as conferences, workshops, receptions and complex multi-faceted events in a professional environment. Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work to deadlines calmly under pressure are essential qualities, along with an ability to think innovatively and to use resources creatively to deliver high quality events. You will also have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong commitment to team work and a proactive approach to problem solving.
