The University of Cambridge Sports Service is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to be responsible for all financial and management accounting functions, controls, processes, and procedures within the department.
The role holder will support the Senior Management Team in the management of Sports Service finances and business planning functions, provide finance-related information and support to Sports Service staff, and to oversee the grant allocation, audit and financial information provided to University sports clubs. The role-holder will be a signatory for payroll matters for all staff employed by the Sports Service.
Applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent, hold an accounting qualification and be registered with AAT, or equivalent. Applicants must also have demonstrable analytical skills, relevant experience in interpreting financial information - ideally in both commercial and Higher Education/Public Sector environments - and have a thorough knowledge and understanding of IT financial systems, application of VAT rules and regulations on educational institutions, and budgeting and control.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment and a standard Disclosure and Barring Service check.
This role is advertised on a full time (37 hours) basis but the Sports Service welcomes applications on a 0.8 FTE (29.6 hours) basis.
