This role offers flexible and remote working, but with an expectation of on-campus attendance in Milton Keynes, 1 day per week (Wednesday) and ad hoc as required.

The role 

The Open University are recruiting a Personal Assistant (PA) to Director of Strategy / Head of Government and External Affairs, to provide a high level of secretarial and administrative support.

Skills and experience 

  • Education to GCSE grade C standard or equivalent, especially English and Maths.
  • Well-developed IT skills and the ability to use a range of software packages including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience of working in a senior secretarial and administrative role. 
  • Evidence of ability to take initiative and demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced level of accuracy and competence in presentation of work and a proven ability to maintain quality of work under pressure.
  • Effective team-working skills with the ability to prioritise.
