Building on continuous success in student growth and in sustained advancement of research activities, the school has embarked on a programme of extensive expansion funded by substantial long-term investments. Our growing teams are teaching, exploring and practising in some of the most exciting areas in the field of computing and the processing of digital media.

The posts will focus on development of AI based solutions used PowerBI to help the Birmingham City University tackle two major challenges related to IT and Student Recruitment.

For IT Services, they currently receive high number of daily logs regarding common IT issues from students and staff, straining the available staff resources. Proposed solutions include implementing an AI Chatbot using historical logs to provide quick answers and developing a PowerBI application to handle complex queries. The Chatbot will improve over time through learning from complex responses, aiming to reduce log numbers by 50%, leading to cost savings and enhanced satisfaction among staff and students due to quicker response times.

For The Student Recruitment, the faculty faces challenges with processing a large influx of applications, particularly from international MSc students, leading to delays and complications. Proposed solutions include developing an AI solution to assess student qualifications and offer academic guidance, aiming to expedite application processing and reduce the workload of administrative staff and course leads.
