We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, proactive person to join our team who can deliver timely and high-quality technical support within the School of Pharmacy. This a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours per week). Job share opportunities may be considered.

About the role 

  • You will support and maintain the provision of key technical services across the School of Pharmacy.
  • Assist in the management of a team of teaching technicians who prepare practical classes, covering drug design, analysis, and sterile production.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the teaching laboratories and professional training spaces. 
  • Provide expert technical support and guidance in the use of equipment and specialist techniques essential for teaching.
  • Ensure all lab users comply with local health and safety arrangements and monitor the completion of monthly lab inspections.
  • Oversee and support the completion of risk assessments and standard operating procedures, ensuring these are readily available for all.
  • Conduct the routine maintenance and cleaning.

About you:

You will have experience working in a technical role and will be educated to at least HNC or equivalent or have equivalent working experience in a relevant technical or scientific role. You have skills and experience in problem solving. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate a complex information with clarity.
