An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie to join The Bench Bar at Surrey Sports Park, a state of the art Leisure Complex and Fitness Facility, home to numerous professional sports teams and partnered with the University of Surrey.

The Surrey Sports Park restaurant boasts a 70 seat bar, 2 day conference rooms and 2 activity rooms for large banquets of up to 250 people. The Bench Bar offers a wide selection of healthy, balanced food which aims to support the positive lifestyles of the SSP guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision and direction of the Sous Chef, you’ll work in all sections of the kitchen on the basic preparation and production of high quality food, maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness and tidiness according to current health and food hygiene legislation.
 
As part of a team, this role contributes to the maintenance of the unit’s reputation and the smooth running and reputation of the Hospitality, Catering and Conference Services. 

Other responsibilities include:

  • To determine buffet production requirements from catering diary sheets; to write buffet production sheets.
  • To cook raw and ready to cook buffet items; to garnish buffets; to cook food items using ovens, grills, fryers, microwaves and ranges.
  • To assist Chef with preparation and production of other menus; including semester menus and conferences.
  • To adhere to daily and periodic cleaning rotas; to maintain a clean, healthy and safe working environment in accordance with guidelines.
  • To assist with the completion of monitoring forms for the Safe Food System, Cleaning rotas and Wastage Records. 

The kitchen is open 7 days a week all year round, therefore will require a strong chef to operate the kitchen at all times.
