The role

International Recruitment Officers work closely with the International Market Development Managers to develop and implement student recruitment strategies in their prescribed region. This involves supporting a network of recruitment agents and school counsellors, as well as working directly with prospective students providing advice and guidance to promote the University of Bristol, which at times requires overseas travel for recruitment activities.

We are currently recruiting for two International Recruitment Officers whose anticipated market responsibility will be South and Central Asia or the Americas.

What will you be doing?

You will organise a range of activities and coordinate marketing and customer relationship projects relating to the recruitment of international students to the University. This is a position in which understanding marketing theory and practice is essential.

At times you will be required to represent the University overseas, offering careers counselling for potential students and their advisers. Training of international education agents will also form part of overseas activity, as will occasional presentations to varying sizes of audience.

You will assist in the development of annual market-specific recruitment plans and associated faculty action plans, particularly in terms of providing accurate statistical evidence. This will involve liaison with internal and external stakeholders involved in elements of the University’s internationalisation strategy.

You’ll have responsibility for organising itineraries including travel and appointments for colleagues undertaking International Office sponsored activity and incoming visitors to the International Office by schools, counsellors, embassy and high commission staff, potential applicants and their advisors/sponsors.

You should apply if

  • You are interested in how a University organises activity to support the internationalisation agenda, specifically relating to the recruitment of international students
  • Are able to work independently overseas promoting the University in a variety of settings, giving positive advice and guidance to a wide range of enquirers
  • You are able to analyse data and contribute to strategy development
  • You are interested in working as part a large team with a diverse range of colleagues, liaising regularly with other University areas/functions
  • You are interested in marketing and how this is adapted to engage stakeholders across a range of cultural contexts
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where change can be frequent.
