The role

We wish to appoint a full time Deputy Student Administration Manager on a fixed term basis to cover an internal secondment from the team.  The role holder will play an active role in the management of the student administration and education processes of the School. The School of Humanities supports five successful and dynamic departments: Classics & Ancient History, English, History, History of Art, Religion & Theology as well as a Liberal Arts Programme.

The team is split into three sub teams one of which the role holder will be a leader for and ensure the successful delivery of student administration for their area of responsibility.

What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will be working with a team of administrators and academics, playing a pivotal role in ensuring students receive consistently high-quality administrative support during their studies.

As part of the student administration leadership team, you will take an active role in developing and enhancing existing processes within the School, as well as line managing team members and supporting the wider team on a daily basis. You should enjoy working within a team, demanding high standards of yourself and others with a willingness to interact with our students and academics in a confident and friendly manner.

The post would be suitable to someone with a high standard of interpersonal skills and line management or supervisory experience seeking a new challenge within a School Team. Knowledge of education processes will be a requirement of the role.

You should apply if

You have a strong understanding of the process that underpin student administration and knowledge of how these are managed in other parts of the university.

You have demonstrable experience in a school-based student-facing role.

You enjoy using your advanced organisational skills to deliver a high-quality service to students and staff You must have strong communication skills, and be an effective and supportive manager.

You will possess a high level of accuracy, flexibility and customer service skills and will be able to lead and implement change in a busy and engaging environment.

You are experienced in using a range of IT systems and be able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly.
