Location: The University estate – multiple locations including, ACS, AMRC (Catcliffe, Northwest and Wales) and Main Campus

The Department of Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) at the University of Sheffield is responsible for the management of the University's estate including managing property and facilities and developing new buildings.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Sheffield’s Landscape Services Team as one of three team supervisors where you will actively work with and engage with the team flexibly. Your knowledge and enthusiasm of providing operational supervision and support to a diverse operational team will be an asset to the Department of Engineering and Maintenance, Landscape Services and the wider university population. You will work across the team providing technical support and supervision to the Landscape Services Team using your expertise of operational maintenance, hard landscaping and horticulture supporting continuous development and improvements. Our green spaces include main campus, accommodation services and satellite locations to include AMRC (Catcliffe, Northwest and Wales). Your technical ability and competency of sustainable landscape services will ensure operational works are carried out to the high standard required by our world class university. You will support the team ensuring legislative compliance, that a positive working culture is maintained, university core values are met and represent the University positively at all times. The role is primarily physical and active and there is a requirement to work outside and support the team in all weathers to meet business requirements. The successful applicant will support the Engineering & Maintenance Team’s strategic objectives of improved service levels, efficiencies of service, successional planning, IMS process, a positive health and safety culture, staff development, legislative and localised compliance. Your in depth technical knowledge and experience of supervision will support landscape services ensuring the Landscape Services values are optimised via continuous development and improvement.

You will ensure statutory and legislative compliance for your activity and align to University policy and procedure. You will be a driven and motivated team player and ensure a positive working culture is evidenced and maintained at all times.

The post will operate on a 35 hour contract.
