Learning Support Coordinator - 15 Week Fixed Term Contract

BIMM University is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Coordinator to join our student wellbeing team on a fixed term basis.

About the Role:

As the Learning Support Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all students have access to the support they need to succeed. Working closely with our student wellbeing team and academic staff, you will coordinate the delivery of additional support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or mental health issues. From developing individual learning plans to facilitating access to diagnostic reports, your efforts will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate the operational delivery of learning support services, including managing caseloads and overseeing the activities of Learning Support Advisors.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for students, parents, academic staff, and external agencies on SEND and SpED matters.
  • Liaise with teaching staff to communicate student needs and develop learner profiles to assist in academic support.
  • Assist students with accessing diagnostic reports and exploring referral options, ensuring a clear understanding of individual student needs.
  • Provide proactive support to applicants disclosing learning needs or disabilities, facilitating enrolment and induction processes.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions team to ensure timely provision of support to new students, including individualized support needs.

What You'll Bring:

  • A genuine desire to make a positive contribution to the student experience.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality learning support services in an FE or HE context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SEND and SpED, along with knowledge of learning support methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resilience and the ability to manage a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in data collection and analysis.

This is a fixed term contract aiming to start mid April and ending early August.

Salary: £31,720 to £39,520 depending on experience
