University of Nottingham - HR Operations

Location: Nottingham
Salary: £33,966 to £45,585 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 5th March 2024
Closes: 17th March 2024
Job Ref: HR972310

The University has embarked on an exciting new programme of work to replace its existing digital services offering in the HR, Finance and Procurement areas with UniCore. We are now well advanced into the Digital Core (new HR, Finance and Procurement system) project and we have a new opportunity for an HR Subject Matter Expert (SME Officer) to join our Digital Core HR team to support our existing team of SMEs as we prepare for go-live.

The HR SME Officer role involves supporting our SMEs across a number of areas of the project including developing user guides and training materials, trouble-shooting design configuration challenges, engaging with the wider university to support and manage the effective collection of people data and developing and delivering business engagement sessions. The role holder will liaise closely with colleagues across the project, including our implementation partner, Mastek, as well across the wider University community. This is a really exciting time to join the project as we progress towards go-live.

So who are we looking for? We are looking for someone with strong analytical, problem-solving skills who is able to recommend practical and workable solutions. You will be well organised with excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail able to manage multiple priorities.

To apply for this role please follow the link to Vacancy Manager where you will be asked to complete a basic application form and to provide no more than a 500 word expression of interest where you should focus on explaining how your knowledge, skills, and behaviours align to the role profile.

Closing date: 17 March 2024

This role is available on a fixed term basis until 31st December 2024. This is a full-time opportunity; however, it may be agreed that the preferred candidate may work part-time (minimum of 29 hours per week). Please state in your application the number of hours you are seeking if less than full-time.

Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.

Condition of application: Due to the timing required for the successful candidate to be available for this role, you must be available to start (or for internal secondments, have prior approval from your line manager to be able to be released from your existing post) by no later than 22 April 2024.

If you would like to know more about this opportunity please contact Peter McCracken, Digital Core HR Workstream Lead, e-mail: peter.mccracken@nottingham.ac.uk
